For those involved in shooting/beating/picking-up they provide a high level of safety for the eyesight.....whether accidentally shot by a shotgun cartridge containing pellets of under 1/4 inch diameter, or flicked in the eye by a springing branch etc. (This year a keeper I was with spent all day with his eye weeping and in pain/irritation, after suffering a poke in the eye from a whipping branch. These glasses would have prevented that).
