Jake is not only congratulated by many people for his good looks, but he is also a wonderful family pet, who has fitted in well with our cat and loves children .... he's very gentle.
He has a fantastic temperament and a brilliant 'nose'. He gets on well with other dogs (as you can see). He's full of life, full of fun and keeps us all amused with his incredible 'circus' antics!
He does need firm control in the field as his nose sometimes takes over and he will try to flush more birds that he can smell, rather than obey the whistle. Usually this is just for a few seconds .... then he comes straight back. But he is a brilliant retriever and his 'nose' enables him to find birds that other dogs have missed. He *loves* flushing game ...... *loves* picking-up and is a real outdoor boy!
